First 3,500 fans at Saturday’s game will receive replica rings
The first 3,500 fans through the gates for Saturday's season opener against Missouri State will receive a keepsake memory from Memphis' 2014 American Athletic Conference and Miami Beach Bowl championship season. Memphis Athletics will be giving away smaller version replicas of the championship rings the Tigers earned last season.
Â
Each fan passing through the gates of Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium will receive one ring while supplies last. The rings will come in a small commemorative pouch, which includes the University of Memphis Athletics logo.
Â
Fans yet to have purchased their tickets for Saturday's opener can still do so throughout Memphis for just $5 at Kroger stores throughout the Memphis area while supplies last.
Â
The University's athletic department will donate $1 from each ticket sold at the Guest Services desks in Kroger stores for the special charitable event. If all 10,000 tickets that have been allocated to Kroger are sold, proceeds will result in 80,000 meals for needy families as the Tigers once again compete with Ole Miss and Mississippi State in the "Million Meals Challenge."
Â
Gates at the Liberty Bowl open at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday with kickoff against Missouri State set for 6 p.m.
Â
Be sure to check back to GoTigerGo.com on Friday for additional details about parking and what is ahead in terms of game day both on Tiger Lane and inside the Liberty Bowl for Saturday's season opener between Missouri State and Memphis.
