WOLCOTT, Colo. – The University of Memphis women's golf team sits ninth through day one of the Golfweek Conference Challenge, being played at the Red Sky Golf Club. Memphis carded an opening round 306 (+18) to close day one. Senior Ashleigh Whisenant leads Memphis with first round 73 (+1), which included a hole-in-one on the 167-yard seventh hole. Whisenant eagled a hole in the Memphis Intercollegiate just a week ago and ended up in a sudden death playoff for the individual medalist honors.

TCU leads the team race following a first round 289. TCU's Sabina Pena and San Diego State's Sirene Blair are tied for first with opening round 70s on Monday.

Memphis junior Leighann Cabush is tied for 30^th following a day one 77 (+5). Freshman Sydney Colwill and sophomore Emily Goldenstein are tied at 44^th with opening round 78s (+6), while Madison Thomas is two strokes back at +8.

The second round tee times Tuesday for Memphis will be off the first tee, beginning at 10 a.m. Live scoring is available on www.GolfStat.com.
