Pregame concerts return to Tiger Lane
Live music will return to Tiger Lane this fall as the University of Memphis announced the 901 Concert Series entertainment for the 2015 season. Local entertainment will take the stage for high-energy concerts ahead of Memphis' first three home games.
Â
The three free concerts on Tiger Lane will feature the Dantones (Missouri State game, Sept. 5), Kevin and Bethany Paige (Cincinnati game, Sept. 24) and the Super 5 (Ole Miss game, Oct. 17).
Â
Saturday's concert by the Dantones will be from 4 to 5:15 p.m. The Tiger Lane Pep Rally will begin immediately following the concert. The pregame concerts featuring Kevin and Bethany Paige and The Super 5 will be set the week of the Cincinnati and Ole Miss games, respectively.
Â
The Dantones, based out of Memphis and Southaven, Miss., have a distinctive repertoire, amazing talent and obvious chemistry on stage. All four members of the group perform lead vocals, providing audiences with a wide range of music they cover.
Â
The husband and wife tandem of Kevin and Bethany Paige were 901 Concert Series favorites last year when they opened the concert series and are back for 2015. Along with their band are renowned for their long-running stand as the house band at Alfred's on Beale Street and also a crowd favorite at the famous Peabody Hotel Rooftop Parties.
Â
Closing out the series will be the Super 5 for the Ole Miss game. Formerly known as The Five That Framed OJ, the Super 5 has been a Southeast favorite since 1995. Once a strictly 80s cover group, the Super 5 is now dedicated to all-time party favorites.
