MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth, Darien Tubbs drove in Carlos Williams on a squeeze bunt to clinch a 4-3 win over Cincinnati to salvage the three-game series.

Starting pitcher Connor Alexander tossed 7 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on nine hits. The freshman right hander struck out eight in the game.
Memphis right fielder Kane Barrow drove in the other three runs in the game with one in the first, one in the third and one in the eighth. He and Darien Tubbs were the only Tigers with multiple hits in the game.
Darien Tubbs singled to start the game, moved to second on a groundout, stole third base and scored the opening run on a sacrifice fly by Barrow.
Memphis added to its lead in the third after Zach Schritenthal singled with two outs and stole second base. Barrow lined a single to left field to drive in Schritenthal and make the score 2-0.
Cincinnati scored runs in the fifth and sixth to tie the game up at 2-2.
The Bearcats grabbed the lead in the eighth after two singles to start the inning. The run came home on a groundout by Ryan Noda.
The Tigers tied it back up in the bottom half. Darien Tubbs worked a walk to start the eighth before stealing second base. He moved the third on a ground out and scored on a single by Barrow.
Nate Rupiper was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the ninth and was pinch-run for by Carlos Williams. After the first out, the Bearcats called on reliever A.J. Olasz who proceeded to walk Jake Overbey on four pitches. Cincinnati made another pitching change and reliever Mitch Patishall issued a walk to Brandon Montgomery to load the bases. Darien Tubbs followed with the squeeze bunt on the second pitch of his at-bat.
