LAKE CHARLES, La. - Freshman Brooke Lee drove in the vital runs with a two-out single into left field in the sixth as the Tigers came back to beat McNeese State 3-2 Saturday night at the Cowgirl Classic.

The Tigers (6-7) had only one hit and were the trailing the Cowgirls (12-6) 2-0 as the teams entered the next to last inning. After a ground out with the first at bat, Kyler Trosclair drew a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. Then Lindsay Crowdus singled up the middle, putting runners on the corner for Cierra Mangum, who followed Crowdus with a base hit past the pitcher to make it 2-1.

A walk loaded the bases and then Lee took a 1-0 pitch and lined it over the third baseman's head and into left. Crowdus scored and then Mangum followed around from second to put the Tigers up.

Lee wasn't finished making an impact on the game as she stabbed a line drive at shortstop that looked as if it was headed for the gap between left and center. That play loomed even bigger as McNeese State's next batter doubled off of the wall, which surely would have tied the game had the bags not been empty.

Instead she became just another stranded runner as the Cowgirls' chances were few and far between thanks to plays like Lee's and the pitching from the circle.

Jordan Richwood (4-3) threw her second complete game in as many days, allowing only three hits and striking out four. On the other side, Jamie Allred (1-3) also went the distance in what was a good pitching performance from both teams. She gave up four hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking four.

Richwood allowed just two walks, to lead off the first and third innings. Both of those walks came around to score the only runs of the evening for McNeese State. Other than that, Richwood was solid in the circle.

The Tigers have one game left in the Cowgirl Classic as they take on Holy Cross Sunday at 1 p.m. They'll look to finish 4-0 over the weekend tournament.
