Hearn Named To American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll

Senior earns recognition from league for a second-straight week.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis' Ariel Hearn has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday.
It is the eighth career conference weekly honor roll recognition for Hearn, and her second for the 2015-16 campaign. Hearn also earned the league's accolade last week.
In two games against Saint Louis and George Washington last week, Hearn averaged 19.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 4.0 steals. She shot 100 percent from the free throw line (6-of-6).
The senior recorded season best for points (21) and rebounds (7) in a narrow 68-62 setback to George Washington Dec. 6. She also tied a career high with five steals versus the Colonials.
Hearn had 17 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 63-57 loss to Saint Louis Dec. 2.
For the season, the 5-foot-8 guard leads the Tigers with a 14.5 scoring average. She also leads the squad with 17 assists and 26 steals. Hearn is averaging 3.6 rebounds from her guard position.
Hearn now has 1,611 points and 336 assists for her career, and is one of three players in the program's history to have 1,500 points and 325 assists. Kitty Allen and Connie Hibbler are the other two Tigers to do so. Hearn is in the No. 11 spot on the Tigers career scoring chart and tied for ninth on Memphis all-time assists list.
Memphis (4-4) takes to the road for its next two games. The Tigers travel to Minneapolis, Minn., to face Minnesota (5-2) Saturday, Dec. 12. Game time is 2 p.m. (CT) from Williams Arena. Following that contest, Memphis stays on the road and meets Central Michigan in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., Dec. 15. Game time is 11 a.m. (CT) for the match-up with the Chippewas.
