Shaq Goodwin and Dedric Lawson Named to AAC Honor Roll

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis forwards Shaq Goodwin and Dedric Lawson have each been named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll for their performances against Louisiana Tech and Southeast Missouri State over the past week.
Goodwin scored 20 and 18 points in the two games during the week, while pulling down 12 rebounds in the opening game of the week against Louisiana Tech for the double-double. He made 16-of-27 shots (59.3 percent) during the week, and 6-of-9 (66.7 percent) from the charity stripe. This season he is averaging 14.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game, while converting on 50.7 percent (35-of-69) of his shots this season. He has eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau last week, and is steadily climbing the school scoring list.
Lawson scored a career-high 28 points to go with 14 rebounds in the team's win over Southeast Missouri State, hitting 12-of-18 shots from the field and grabbing two steals. He averaged 18.0 points per game during the week, while averaging nine rebounds and shooting 57.7 percent (15-of-26) from the field). Lawson leads the team with a 15.9 point per game scoring average and 9.0 rebound per game average through the first seven games of the season. He is making 46.4 percent (39-of-84) of his shots during the year, and is third on the team with 18 assists.Â
The Tigers, who are 5-2 on the season, return to action on Saturday, December 12, when the team hosts the Manhattan Jaspers at FedExForum in a 7 p.m. tip-off.
