Creighton Named To The American Weekly Honor Roll

Tigers sophomore posted five career highs versus Minnesota Saturday.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis' Cheyenne Creighton has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday. It is the third-straight week a Tiger has earned the conference accolade, as Ariel Hearn received the same recognition Nov. 30 and Dec. 7.
It is the second career conference weekly honor roll accolade for Creighton, and her first for the 2015-16 campaign. She also earned the honor in February of last season (Feb. 23, 2015).
In the one game Memphis played last week, Creighton posted several career bests. The 6-foot-1 forward had career highs for points (14), rebounds (8), field goals made (7), assists (3) and blocked shots (3) against Minnesota.
Creighton shot 7-of-10 from the field for her 14 points versus the Golden Gophers. It was the sixth game in which the sophomore shot 50 percent or better from the field this season. The Pickering, Ontario, Canada, native leads the Tigers with a 55.1 field goal percentage and is ranked fifth in the American Athletic Conference in that statistical category.
Memphis (4-5) returns to action Tuesday, Dec. 15 when they face Central Michigan (4-3) in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. Game time from McGuirk Arena is 11 a.m. (CT) for the Tigers- Chippewas match-up.
Following Tuesday's game, Memphis returns home Saturday, Dec. 19 for an encounter against Big Ten Conference foe Illinois. Game time is 2 p.m. (CT) at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
