Hearn Named To American Weekly Honor Roll

Tigers senior guard averaged 15.0 points, 3.5 rebounds last week.
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis' Ariel Hearn has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday.
It is the seventh career conference weekly honor roll recognition for Hearn, and her first for the 2015-16 campaign.
In two games against Little Rock and Southern Illinois last week, Hearn averaged 15.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals. She shot 41.4 percent from the field.
The senior saved her best for last in the 61-58 win over Southern Illinois Nov. 29. Hearn scored 12 of her 14 points in the final quarter, including the game-winning three-pointer with :02.3 on the clock. The game-winning buzzer-beater was the first of her career.
Hearn scored 16 points and grabbed a season-best six boards in Memphis' 61-53 setback at Little Rock Nov. 27.
For the season, the 5-foot-8 guard leads the Tigers with a 13.0 scoring average. She also leads the squad with 13 assists and 18 steals. Hearn is averaging 3.0 rebounds from her guard position.
Hearn now has 1,573 points and 332 assists for her career, and is one of three players in the program's history to have 1,500 points and 325 assists. Kitty Allen and Connie Hibbler are the other two Tigers to do so.
Memphis (4-2) returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 2 when it hosts Saint Louis (5-0). Game time is 7 p.m. (CT) at the Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
