Takoda Metoxen, a right-handed pitcher from Franklin High School in Wisconsin, will join the Memphis Baseball program as a member of the 2016 class, head coach Daron Schoenrock announced Wednesday.
Â
"Takoda projects as a power pitcher with good feel of his secondary pitches. He has the work ethic and drive to be successful and we anxiously await his arrival," head coach Daron Schoenrock said.
Â
Metoxen plays for the Rawlings Hitters in Wisconsin, despite missing time in 2015 because of an injury. In 2014 for the Hitters he compiled a 2.35 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 41 2/3 innings pitched. He had a pair of double-digit strikeout games, including a season high 15 Ks in a seven-inning outing. He had a 4-2 record and one save. Metoxen is also a member of the football team.
Â
He is the son of Shannon and Leigh Ann Metoxen and is an American Indian from the Oneida Tribe out of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
