Nov 16, 2015 | Baseball
Huntsville High School (Alabama) left-handed pitcher Daniel Wright has signed his National Letter of Intent and will join the University of Memphis baseball program, head coach Daron Schoenrock announced Monday.
Â
"Daniel is a very projectable lefthander with the ability to attack with a great mix of pitches. He can pitch early at Memphis in multiple roles and will also add leadership to the locker room with his tremendous work ethic," Schoenrock said.
Wright led his team in strikeouts during his freshman and sophomore seasons at Huntsville High School. He was named a Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American in 2014 and 2015. The 6'3, 185 pound lefty, tossed a 5-inning no-hitter against rival Grissom High School in the 2014 state playoffs.
Â
Wright is the son of Kevin and Roxanne Wright.
