Tigers Cross Country Wraps Up 2015 At Friday's NCAA South Regional

Rodriguez Sala, Louis are teams' top finishers.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – University of Memphis junior Martina Rodriguez Sala and senior Corentin Louis were the women's and men's top finishers, respectively, at the 2015 NCAA South Regional Championships Friday. The University of Alabama hosted the regional meet.
Friday's meet wrapped up the 2015 cross country season for both squads.
Rodriguez Sala crossed the finish line in 37th place in the women's 6k race. She posted a time of 21:26.28. Rodriguez Sala's 37th-place finish was the third-best performance by a Tigers women's runner at the NCAA South Regional. The only other two better finishes were by Daniele Riendeau (21st) and Emily Malinowski (29th), both coming at the 2005 NCAA Regional Championships.
For the seventh time this season, Louis was the men's top finisher. He posted a time of 33:01.07 in the men's 10k run and placed 82nd. His 82nd-place finish tied for the 15th-best in program history at the event.
For the women, junior Abigail Tankersley and sophomore Chelsea Ladd were the team's next two finishers. Tankersley posted a time of 22:31.10 (100th), and Ladd recorded a 23:08.21 (131st).
On the men's side, freshmen Brady Steele and Kaleb Simington followed Louis across the finish line. Steele ran a time of 34:14.05 (119th), while Simington posted a 34:20.73 (121st).
