Memphis Athletics Sets up Relief Fund for Six Tiger Student-Athletes

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Over the summer, the apartment of two University of Memphis basketball players caught fire in the middle of the night, and the pair were fortunate to escape unharmed.

However, everything in the apartment was destroyed, while the two apartments below - which was housing four football players - sustained substantial water damage.

All three of the apartments were destroyed, and all six athletes - Trahson Burrell and Markel Crawford of the men's basketball team, and Taylor Fallin, Tevin Jones, Ryan Mack, and Greg McKillion, had to vacate.

The university has set up two separate fundraising accounts at the Bank of Bartlett. One account is for Markel Crawford and Trahson Burrell. The name on the account is "The University of Memphis for the benefit of Trahson Burrell and Markel Crawford."

The other account is for Taylor Fallin, Tevin Jones, Ryan Mack, and Greg McKillion. The name of that account is "The University of Memphis for the benefit of Taylor Fallin, Tevin Jones, Ryan Mack, and Greg McKillion."

Anyone wishing to donate can do so at the Bank of Bartlett. Because they are separate accounts, please be specific which account you would like to donate to.

As a reminder, boosters and fans are prohibited from donating anything directly to the student-athletes, including but not limited to cash, clothing, discounted furniture, and/or tangible goods.
