Evan Bell Signs with Memphis Baseball

Evan Bell, an outfielder from Oak Park and River Forest High School in Oak Park, Ill., has signed his National Letter of Intent and will join the University of Memphis baseball squad, head coach Daron Schoenrock announced Wednesday.

"Evan possesses great power potential and is someone we predict will find his way into the middle of the lineup someday. He also posses great leadership qualities and we are thrilled with his decision to become a Tiger," said Schoenrock.

Bell batted .333 with seven doubles, a triple and a home run for an Oak Park and River Forest team that finished third in the state in 2015. The 5'10, 190 pound outfielder had a 4-for-4 performance with a homer and six RBI against Hinsdale Central. He was also a first-team All-Conference linebacker on the football team. An outstanding student as well, he was on the honor roll all four years.

Bell is the first announced signing of the 2015 Memphis Baseball signing class.

He is the son of Gordon and Nancy Bell. Father played football at the University of Michigan and in the NFL for the New York Giants.
