Watson Advances to Third Round at ITA Qualifying Round

TULSA – Sophomore Andrew Watson won a first set tiebreak and swept a second set to advance to the third round of the ITA All-American qualifier, Tuesday. With the win, Watson advances to face TCU's Trevor Johnson at 9 a.m., Wednesday.
Later in the afternoon, Watson also played in the qualifying doubles draw with teammate Kai Lemke. The Tiger duo fell 6-0, 6-3 to Jonathan Ho/Keivon Tabrizi of Wake Forest.
On Monday, Jonathan Ho of Wake Forest lost to another Tiger, falling to Ryan Peniston, 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-5 in the consolation men's singles draw. Ho was ranked No. 72 in the country in the first rankings of the fall, giving Peniston a win over a ranked opponent.
