Sohn and Wind Moved to Qualifying at ITA

Wind Falls in Singles
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – The University of Memphis doubles team of Anki Wind and Hannah Sohn were the top seed in the Riviera ITA All-American draw that started on Saturday. After a first round bye, Wind and Sohn were moved to the qualifying draw before playing a match in the prequalifying draw and will now instead start their doubles run Tuesday at 9 a.m. The Memphis duo will face No. 8 seeded Katarina Adamovic and Vladica Babic of Oklahoma State in the Round of 32.
Wind saw her singles run come to an end on Sunday, falling 7-5, 6-2 to Notre Dame's Monica Robinson. Wind had upended the top seed of the draw on Saturday to earn the second round matchup with Robinson.
Three other Lady Tigers also wrapped up their tournament participation on Sunday at the Purdue Invitational.
Senior Kathryn Hughes upended Purdue's Andjela Djokovic, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 to wrap up her run in the Hammer Down Draw with a 1-2 singles mark.
Freshman Janina Berres dropped her Sunday singles match, 6-1, 6-3, to Kansas' Smith Hinton, while sophomore Tara McElroy was edged, 6-2, 6-3, by Purdue's Claudia Escribens in her final singles match of the tournament.
Outside of the doubles team of Wind and Sohn at the ITA All-American, the rest of the Lady Tigers will be back in action at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional, Oct. 15-19th back at Purdue University.
