Leeker Named Goalkeeper of the Week

Memphis sophomore Jake Leeker was named as the American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week after leading the Tigers to a win over Georgia State and a double overtime draw with No. 12 USF, the league office announced Monday.

This is the second time this season Leeker has received the conference's weekly honor.

The St. Louis, Mo. native, made six saves in each match, including a pair of huge saves late in both.

Georgia State scored first in Tuesday's match before Leeker and the Memphis defense stiffened up and shut out the Panthers the rest of the way, allowing the Tigers to rally and win.

Friday night Leeker was at his near best, keeping out everything the nationally-ranked Bulls fired at his net.

Raul Gonzalez and Austin Stone were named to the Honor Roll for their performances.

The Tigers are back on the road for their next two matches, first at Cincinnati Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. and at UCF Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Memphis will close out the regular season at home against Tulsa on October 31.
