Overall Thoughts...
"Basketball is a game of runs. You have to give Tulane credit. I thought the Stark kid played great. He made some big shots. We had the game in our hands, we just made some bad errors. Austin missed some free throws and Shaq made a silly foul 80 feet from the basket. We had a total lapse in judgment there and we didn't come up with the rebound. We made some bad plays down the stretch. You have to give Tulane credit. That's how the league play is going to be; it's going to be a grinder. Our perimeter guys didn't play well. Pookie, Trashon and Avery didn't shoot the ball well. They had a lot of turnovers. We have to get back and find a way to get as many wins as we can and just keep working."
On the 16 turnovers....
"They had a lot of points off turnovers and that ended up biting us in the butt. They ended up taking advantage of our turnovers. We have to be better about that. They hit some tough shots in late situations. We just couldn't get a stop. You have to give them credit. The ball bounced their way. That's a good team we played. We have to keep getting better. We have to get back to the drawing board."

On Tulane...
"You have to give Tulane a lot of credit. They're a great team. They were just tougher than we were tonight. We just couldn't finish."
On losing despite a career-high 28 points...
"It's just one of those nights where that happens. We were on a streak and feeling good. I feel like our effort was there: we prepared in practice and we had good intensity. It just seemed like every time we would go on a run, they went on a run. That was the dagger. It's tough to get on top when that happens."
On the team's response...
"We respond positively to wins. We have to find a way to respond positively to losses. This will define us as a team. We have to get back to practice and get back to the drawing board."

Junior Forward Shaq Goodwin |
On the loss...
"Tulane is a really good team. They have good coaching and good players. Jonathan Stark hit a couple big shots at the end. We had a lot of big plays in the end that we didn't make and they did."
On learning from the loss...
"It's tough seeing that all home wins matter. It's another learning experience for us. I'm mad because it's a loss, but I'm glad that it's in the early portion of the schedule. As long as we keep moving forward, we'll be fine."

Sophomore Guard Pookie Powell |
On his shooting...
"We have to practice and look over film and see what we did wrong and correct it. I had a couple of turnovers that I wish I could correct, but I just have to learn from it."
On the play of Austin Nicholls...
"He was everywhere. He hit shots from the outside. He took his game to another level. We have to do that every game."

Opening Statement...
"When you see your warrior, you see Louis Dabney go down like early and then get word pretty quickly that he wasn't going to be able to go tonight, we had to go to the next man up. We had to be resilient. We had to pick our heads up and move on. Our guys had to step up. I thought several of our guys stepped up big time. I thought Kajon Mack and Keith Pinckney played great roles off of the bench tonight."
On it being a team effort win...
"It really was. We've been together here for the last several days and nowhere to go. We've been preaching about taking care of the basketball. When you take care of that basketball like that, you have a chance to go on the road and win anywhere."
On Jonathan Stark's performance...
"He was aggressive the entire night. He played 37 minutes and didn't turn the ball over once. That's a tremendous performance."
On defeating Memphis in FedExForum...
"Definitely credit our guys again. A lot of them were playing out of position. Jonathan [Stark] actually moved to the two for a while tonight and played there off of the ball. Josh Hearlihy played like three different positions out there. I think their communication was really good. I thought we got fatigued there towards the end and with about six minutes left to go, we made two big time stops in a row. Kajon Mack came up with just a man's rebound right when we needed it."
