  Series Notes

After tonight’s loss, Memphis now leads the all-time series 6-2.
The last time the two teams played was the 1987-88 season. The two teams met in the NCAA Tournament first round, and the Tigers posted a 75-60 win over the Bears.
Tonight’s win is Baylor’s first in the series since the 1977-78 season.
The Tigers are now 37-19 overall vs. the Big 12 Conference.

Tonight’s game was the first for Memphis in a regular-season tournament/classic in Las Vegas.
Prior to tonight, the Tigers had played three times in Las Vegas, but all were single-game visits to play UNLV.

Tonight’s game was a bracketed/semifinal contest of the 2014 Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational. Memphis now has a 101-67 all-time record in regular-season tournaments/classics.
Tonight was the fourth overall and third-straight Thanksgiving Day game for the Tigers. Memphis now has a 2-2 record when playing on Thanksgiving Day.

Junior college transfer Trahson Burrell got his first NCAA Division I start vs. Baylor Thursday.
Sophomore Austin Nichols started his 37th-straight game Thursday.
Sophomore Kuran Iverson did not dress out for a third-straight game due to a concussion.
Sophomore Pookie Powell hit his first collegiate three-pointer Thursday. His three-pointer came at the 13:08 mark of the first half. Powell finished the game 2-of-6 from the arc.
Powell scored a season-high 13 points vs. Baylor.
