LSU came out of a two minute television break on fire as the squad quickly got their first shot on frame for a goal. Fernanda Pina stormed down the left side of the field and served a cross inside the 18-yard box where Colby Maffei put a left-footed shot in the net for the goal.
The U of M had a chance to equalize after Christabel Oduro drew a foul in the penalty area, but Kinneman came up with the save to keep Memphis off the board. Davis stepped to the penalty spot, but Kinneman dove to her left and stopped the penalty kick.
In the 35th minute, Oduro created a one-versus-one opportunity, but her attempted shot rolled past the right post and across the end line. After Natalia Gomez-Junco had a shot bounce off the crossbar in the 75th minute, Oduro got Memphis on the board seconds later. Playing the ball near the end line on the left side of the pitch, Oduro fired a bender that went just inside the far post for her second goal, 21st of her career.
