Tigers Take Out South Florida, 71-59

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Antonio Burks scored 26 points and Dujuan Wagner added 16 to lead Memphis to a 71-59 victory over South Florida on Wednesday night.
The Tigers (21-7, 11-3 Conference USA) scored 19 straight points in the second half to snap a three-game losing streak. Memphis opened league play with 10 consecutive victories.
South Florida (17-9, 7-6) was eliminated from title contention in the National Division.
The teams were tied at 36 at halftime after Memphis had built a 31-17 lead late in the first half. Will McDonald's slam at the buzzer punctuated South Florida's 19-5 run.
The game was tied five more times in the second half before Memphis' 19-0 run made it 65-48.
Bulls senior guard Altron Jackson ended the scoring drought with 6:37 remaining.
Jackson led South Florida with 16 points and McDonald had 11.
Kelly Wise and Scooter McFadgon scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, for Memphis.
The Tigers have won seven consecutive games over South Florida and lead the series 13-2.
