Tigers Cruise To Win Over Arkansas-Little Rock

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- John Grice had 21 points and Anthony Rice added 18 Tuesday to lead Memphis to a 73-49 victory over Arkansas-Little Rock.
The Tigers (3-1) opened the game with the first 12 points and were never threatened after halftime. The Trojans (3-2) shot only 30 percent from the field, including 23 percent in the second half. Arkansas-Little Rock also had 18 turnovers.
Memphis, meanwhile, shot 49 percent from the field.
Rodney Carney added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Memphis, his second double-double of the season, while Earl Barron had 10 points.
Mark Green was the only Trojan in double figures with 12, but hit only four of 14 shots. Nick Zachery, Arkansas-Little Rock's second leading scorer, had six points and missed 14 his first 15 shots and was 2-of-13 from 3-point range.
The Trojans didn't score until 5 1/2 minutes into the game. Memphis led 35-20 at halftime.
Grice had 16 points in the second half, on 5-of-8 from the field, including 3-of-6 from 3-point range, to lead Tiger scorers in the half.
The Trojans made one run at the Tigers during the first half, cutting the lead to 24-18. But Memphis answered with nine straight points to eventually lead by 17.
In the second half Memphis built the lead to 22 points and coasted home. The Trojans never got closer than 20 the rest of the way, and Memphis led at one point by 31.
