PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Scooter McFadgon scored a career-high 22 points and DaJuan Wagner added 15 as Memphis defeated Temple 64-54 Thursday night.
Kelly Wise contributed 16 rebounds and Antonio Burks had a career-high 11 assists and no turnovers running the offense for Memphis (8-3), who have won five of their last six.
Lynn Greer had 22 points while Alex Wesby and Kevin Lyde each added 10 for Temple (3-6), which has lost four in a row.
After the Owls pulled to within five at 49-44, the Tigers scored the next seven points capped by an Anthony Rice 3-pointer that put them ahead 56-44 with 8:46 left. Temple cut the deficit to six in the final four minutes but was unable to get closer.
Memphis scored 10 of the last 11 points of the first half to take a 33-26 halftime advantage. Wise scored five of the Tigers' points during the spurt.
At halftime, Temple honored Philadelphia 76er Aaron McKie, a former Owl, with its first Distinguished Professional Athlete Award. Seven of McKie's current Sixers teammates - including Allen Iverson, Dikembe Mutombo and Derrick Coleman - were at the ceremony.
