NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Memphis women's soccer team travelled to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt University on Wednesday and fell to the Commodores 3-0.
The Lady Tigers were outshot by a 28-2 margin in the match, with the lone bright spot being the goalkeeping of freshman keeper Katarina Wicksell, who made seven saves on the night. Vanderbilt scored once in the first half on a Kat Carrol shot. They added two more in the second half, both coming off the foot of Laura Hershenow.
Memphis falls to 8-11 on the season with their fourth straight loss, and they will seek to end the skid on Saturday night. They will close out their season with a home match against Christian Brothers University at Echles Field. Game time is 8 p.m. and the four Lady Tiger seniors, Nicole Bates-Eamer, Michele Meehan, Candice Spiniolas, and Tori Winslett, will be honored before the match begins.
