Tigers Struggle Against Rebels

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Rahim Lockhart scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Mississippi to a 74-64 win Saturday over Memphis to extend the Rebels' non-conference home winning streak to 29 games.
Memphis trailed most of the game, but got as close as 53-49 when Shannon Forman made a jumper with 9:51 remaining. Lockhart and Marcus Hicks responded for the Rebels by combining for eight straight points to give Ole Miss a double-digit lead.
Memphis (4-4), who had won eight straight games against Ole Miss, never got closer than five points again. Ole Miss (7-1) had five players in double figures.
Marcus Hicks and Jason Harrison scored 12 points each while Lataryl Williams and Jason Flanigan added 11 apiece for the Rebels.
The win gives Ole Miss the fourth longest non-conference home streak in nation. Maryland has 67 wins, Washington State has 44 and Penn State has 43 consecutive wins against non-conference opponents.
Marcus Moody had nine first-half points to lead the Tigers. Moody made a jumper with 16:18 remaining in the first half to give Memphis a 8-7 lead. The Tigers, however, managed only one basket over the next six minutes and never took another lead in the game.
Ole Miss went on a 13-2 run and led 20-10 with 10:02 left in the first half. The Rebels led 39-26 at the half.
Memphis got 16 points from Moody. Keiron Shine had 12 and Forman scored 11 for the Tigers.
